Someone standing near me watching said the Angels were approaching.
Said she felt her body shiver, said she touched this "growing beauty."
When I looked up my eyes were blind.
(I could only see the sky).
And then the people gathered there to honor Angels in the air.
For a time they turned to me, it's then I said I couldn't see.
They turned away, they dropped their eyes.
I walked away (I had to cry).
Where is the fire burning, where is the light I was supposed to see?
Where is the new day dawning, where is the teacher? Come illumine me.
Then I wandered off alone, a journey meant to bring me home.
I looked for love, I looked for pride, I found a place where I could hide.
But after a time I thought I heard silence whispering the Word.
I've come to take my children home (the sun is all the light I've known).
Angels come from deep inside. They make you laugh, they make you cry.
The light is just as bright as mine. My dreams are bursting from the skies.
I am the fire burning, I am the light I was supposed to see.
I am the new day dawning, I am the teacher come illumine me.
